Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) hold promise for treating inflammatory conditions like COVID-19, but their therapeutic success varies due to differences in donor sources, tissue origin, and biological characteristics. This study evaluates nine MSC lines, identifying a specific umbilical cord-derived MSC (hUCMSC) as the most promising candidate for mitigating lung pathology in a SARS-CoV-2 infection model.
