The $40,000 Stem Cell Facelift: Golden Globes’ Most Luxurious Gift

At the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, the star-studded event is offering something beyond the typical awards. Along with their trophies and prestigious recognition, the winners and presenters will be gifted with an over-the-top goody bag that includes some seriously lavish items, such as a luxury yacht charter, a night at the swanky L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, and a nearly $500 CurrentBody LED face mask. Among the most exciting gifts is a celebrity treatment that’s got everyone talking—the $40,000 “stem cell facelift.”

Offered by Dr. Simon Ourian, a Los Angeles-based cosmetic dermatologist with a long list of celebrity clientele, this procedure is not your typical facelift. The “stem cell facelift” is a non-surgical treatment that promises to rejuvenate the face by using stem cells derived from the patient’s own body fat. Dr. Ourian explained that the stem cells, extracted from the patient’s adipose (fat) tissue, are processed and then injected back into the face using fine needles. These injections aim to restore volume, stimulate collagen production, and improve skin texture for a more youthful appearance.

In essence, this treatment uses the regenerative properties of stem cells to deliver effects similar to a traditional facelift, without the need for surgery. This procedure is particularly suited for individuals dealing with sagging skin and volume loss but is not ideal for those with fuller faces, as the additional volume could result in an undesirable outcome.

Here’s how it works:

A patient is placed under local anesthesia, and fat—about 20 to 30 cc—is extracted via a syringe. This fat is then processed to isolate and concentrate the stem cells. The refined solution is injected into various areas of the face to lift and enhance facial volume. This method is akin to nano fat injections, which are increasingly used for improving skin quality by incorporating stem cells, exosomes, and peptides from the patient’s own fat.

The results are not immediate, but after about two to three weeks, patients report seeing a noticeable improvement in skin elasticity and overall facial volume. The procedure is especially popular for those seeking subtle, natural-looking results, with minimal downtime.

The cost of the procedure can range from $30,000 to $50,000, covering consultation, fat harvesting, stem cell processing, injections, and follow-up appointments. Although many of his celebrity clients have undergone the procedure, it’s not something that has been openly discussed in the public eye—yet the procedure’s rise in popularity speaks for itself.

While the “stem cell facelift” offers a more subtle enhancement than traditional surgical facelifts, it’s worth noting that it doesn’t provide the same level of tightening and lifting.

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Mofid, who uses stem cells in reconstructive surgeries, points out that stem cells do have the potential to improve facial volume, texture, and skin quality, making them a promising alternative to fillers and possibly even traditional facelifts in the future.

Although this treatment is still in the early stages of being widely accepted, it presents an exciting new avenue for non-surgical facial rejuvenation, one that could become increasingly popular as stem cell technologies continue to evolve. So, whether you’re a Golden Globe winner or someone seeking a youthful glow, the future of beauty treatments may just lie in your own stem cells.
